Naperville Newcomers and Neighbors Club (NNNC) is a social organization that welcomes both newcomers and long-time residents who want to meet other people through our educational, social, and charitable activities.
Established in 1999, the Newcomers and Neighbors Club offers more than 40 activities during the day, evening, or weekend. Our diverse groups engage in: trips; card parties; lunches out; walking tours; scrapbooking; gardening; investing; book groups; international conversations; and more. The Moms 'n' Tots group alone has a wide variety of activities and playgroups. In addition, members continually start new groups.
The Newcomers and Neighbors Club hosts monthly Welcome Coffees, following each Board Meeting. A board of 25 elected members meets to make policy, manage the activities, and review the budget. It also holds monthly luncheons with guest speakers at local venues. Our Make, Bake and Buy silent auction, in November, is another event that's eagerly anticipated by our NNNC members.
During NNNC’s calendar year of 2008-2009, our 420 members raised more than $7,000.00 with over $5000.00 going to eight local charities. Additionally, NNNC presented four scholarships, totaling $2000, to graduating high school seniors from Naperville’s School Districts 203 and 204.

History
Naperville Newcomers and Neighbors was born in 1999 of two parent clubs in Naperville: Welcome Wagon and Welcome Wagon Alumni.
Welcome Wagon was and is a national organization. A local chapter of it had been active in Naperville during the last quarter of the 20th century. The local chapter eventually chose to disassociate itself from the national organization.
The local chapter welcomed newcomers to Naperville for a newcomer's first three years in town. After that, she was invited to join a second club called Welcome Wagon Alumni.
As the years went by, membership in both clubs waxed and waned. At one point, Welcome Wagon Alumni proposed melding the two.
The process took a year. The two governing bodies joined into one, with the name Naperville Newcomers and Neighbors Club. Sue Panarese, president of Welcome Wagon Alumni, worked with the two boards to create bylaws for the new organization.
Today Naperville Newcomers and Neighbors is growing fast. It comprises 450 members, more than ever before. Its vibrant and diverse 40 activity groups meet during the day, evening, or weekend. Luncheons, with educational or entertaining programs included, are held the third Tuesday of the month at area country clubs. A board of 25 elected members meets monthly to make policy and manage the budget.
The growing and energetic club remains a bridge to friendship and fun for both newcomers and established residents.
